‘Infoma’ is a five-chapter novel that tells the story of a four-member family living in the community of Tivoli Gardens and their individual experiences before, during, and after the infamous Tivoli Gardens Incursion of May 2010. The book, though it is set in Tivoli Gardens,  deals with the emotions that are common among Jamaicans that live in Inner-city communities. Each individual chapter focuses on a specific emotion felt by the main characters respectively: fear, frustration, helplessness, and shame. Through the story of the Dawson family, the novel will target the concept of ‘Informa fi dead’ that has been ingrained in Jamaican society and how this

mindset does more harm than good. ‘Informa’ is a story true to the Jamaican experience and its elements are ones that Jamaicans of any age, race, and social class can identify with.
