“I am because we are” is a short feature film that seeks to delineate African cultural retention in Jamaica and its influence on the development of some of Jamaica’s practices, beliefs, traditions, and forms of expression. The project aims to educate the audience about the African influence and drive home the importance of preserving Jamaica’s cultural heritage and stimulate an interest in the interaction with said culture.
